APNA Arts in partnership with Nottingham Asian Arts Council delivered Nottingham’s most ambitious South Asian arts workshop programme to date with the Millennium Expo Asia Craft Workshops. Supported by Arts Council England’s Millennium fund, this festival of workshops was a unique opportunity for all communities to learn, through participation, about the rich traditions and the diversity of South Asian arts and craft. The workshops took place in schools & supplementary schools, youth & community centres, religious centres and art centres throughout Nottingham.
A pivotal aspect of the Millennium Expo Asia Craft Workshops took place at the Art & Craft arena as part of the BBC Music Live Festival at Wollaton Park. These workshops produced an eight metre Rangoli, an elephant sculpture from widdies and tissue paper and two 3-metre banners.

- Rangoli workshops with Ranbir Kaur including the production of an eight metre Rangoli
- Rangoli workshops with Neemita Dabhi
- Batik workshops with Shaheen Merali
- Banner making with Usha Mahenthralingam
- Miniature painting master class with Amrit and Rabindra Singh
- Printed card making with Bhajan Hunjan
- Scrap sculptures with Krishna Alageswaran
- Islamic Banners with Rukhsana Ikram
- Scrap jewellery and embroidery workshops with Zed Sardar
- Appreciation of South Asian music with Utkarsha Joshi
- Musical instrument making (sitar) with Ajay Sharma from the famous Rikhi Ram and sons, India
