Venue: Art Exchange Gallery
The Singh twins work revealed life in Britain through a South Asian lens, a story of humour and colour told in fine detail. Unique perspectives gave a sense of life captured in the click of a shutter; the dual significance of their work lies in their determination to revive the ‘dying’ tradition of Indian miniature painting whilst contributing to the enrichment and development of the contemporary British art scene. One of APNA Arts most popular exhibitions, the work appealed to a wide variety of people.
During this exhibition the artists delivered a master class to ten students in the techniques of miniature painting with were displayed at the Wollaton Park ‘Big weekend’ as part of the Expo craft marquee.
A family day was also organised through an ‘n’compass (Engage) project. Year 5 students from Douglas primary school and their families where invited to the gallery to participate in workshops lead by the Twins, Said adrus, Donna Griffiths and Rukshana Ladha.
